Si racconta che le sirene attirassero i marinai con il loro canto, una voce capace di affascinare e condurre alla rovina. Ulisse, uomo curioso e determinato, desiderava ascoltare quel canto senza esserne travolto. <\/span><\/p>\n

Avvisato dalla maga Circe dei pericoli che lo attendevano, ordin\u00f2 al suo equipaggio di tapparsi le orecchie con la cera e si fece legare all\u2019albero maestro della nave, imponendo ai suoi uomini di non scioglierlo per nessuna ragione.<\/span><\/p>\n

In questo modo Ulisse riusc\u00ec ad ascoltare il canto delle sirene senza cedere al loro richiamo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Deluse per non essere riuscite a sedurlo, le sirene si lasciarono morire contro gli scogli. Una di esse, Parthenope, fu trasportata dalle correnti marine dalle coste della Calabria fino agli scogli di Megaride, dove oggi sorge il Castel dell\u2019Ovo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Durante quel lungo viaggio, si dice che le lacrime della sirena si trasformarono in un profumo intenso, che si disperse nell\u2019aria e rimase sulla terra. <\/span><\/p>\n

Quel profumo accarezz\u00f2 le coste dell\u2019alta Calabria e, ancora oggi, qualcuno giura di sentirlo nelle notti pi\u00f9 quiete.<\/span><\/p>\n
